Easter – the most important event in history – when Jesus once forever been the atoning sacrifice for all men’s sins.
He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.
1. John 2:2:
He himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for those of the whole world
